I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I updated this site. So many new paintings to share. I’m getting ready for an exhibit at the KCH Healing Hearts Gallery in Kanab Utah, so it’s catch up time.
I also think it’s time to delete of some of my early paintings. Many are class or workshop projects and reflect how much I had to learn. I still have a lot to learn and hope to continue to improve my technique, etc. etc.
I don’t know if I will ever be disciplined enough to keep the site current. I will, however, try to be better. I enjoy the site because it documents my progress, and I hope you enjoy watching my progress.
Today’s date is May 1, but I will post paintings in the order of creation and change the date to reflect when the work was created beginning 12 months ago.
Painted from reference photos taken in Kanab, Utah.
I actually started this in July 2015, but after painting the background set it aside.
I finally pulled it out again in March 2015 and finished it. I’m glad I waited, because I had a more relaxed attitude toward it and the finish fell into place.

Before painting this 12 x 18″ version of the scene, I painted 3 versions in my Art Journal using different techniques, paper and paint. The first one is painted with Gouache on Terra Skin. The second is Gouache on Gessoed paper. The third is Watercolor and Gouache on watercolor paper.
